Alexander Schunka is Professor of early modern history at the Friedrich Meinecke Institute of the Freie Universitaet Berlin. He has previously held positions at the universities of München, Stuttgart and Erfurt (Gotha Research Centre). His research interests include the history of migration and mobilities, religious and cultural history as well as the history of natural resources in a European perspective. He has published four monographs as well as a number of essay collections, book chapters and journal articles in German and English.
