Anastasia Hamatsou

Anastasia Hamatsou holds a PhD in Political Science and History from Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences and a Degree in History and Archaeology of the Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has worked as a researcher for the University of Athens, Nancy II of France and the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Cyprus. She has taught Modern and Contemporary History of Cyprus, Teaching History and Modern Greek History at the University of Cyprus (2013, 2015, 2018, 2020) and at the University of Neapolis-Paphos (2020-2021). She has participated in local and international conferences and has published articles on Modern and Contemporary History of Cyprus, Local History, History Teaching, Women in History and Cultural Management, areas of her research interests. She served for the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus as a Cultural Officer in the Office of the Commissioner for the Development of Mountain Communities (2019-2021). She  also works as a teacher in secondary education in Cyprus and she is the researcher and curator of the Municipal History Museum and Idalion Archive (on going project). She is a member of several cultural and scientific bodies and organisations.
