Irena Selišnik

Irena Selišnik is Assistant Professor of Slovenian and General Modern History at the Department of History, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. She teaches Slovene 19th century history, women’s history and social history.  Her research interests lie in social history and political history and she researches the meaning of political and social movements, the history of emotions, social elites and modernization. In terms of territorial dimension her work is connected with Slovene speaking areas and especially Ljubljana which she researches within the spatial frame of 19th and 20th centuries. On those topics she has published numerous articles in domestic and foreign scientific journals and monographs, and presented her work in conferences, symposiums and round tables.
