Janet Laidla defended her PhD in 2017 in Early Modern Baltic historiography, but in connection to her work at the University of Tartu Museum, she turned her attention towards history of knowledge in the modern period. She is currently working as Lecturer of Estonian History at the University of Tartu, Estonia, and her current research interests include women in academia and women’s education. She is also the Editor-in-Chief of The Estonian Historical Journal.
