Judith Kerr, born Anna Judith Gertrud Helene Kerr (b. Berlin, Germany, 1923 – d. 2019, London, England), was a German-Jewish-born British writer and illustrator whose books sold more than 10 million copies around the world. Born in the Weimar Republic, she came to Britain with her family in 1935 to escape persecution during the rise of the Nazis.
