Su (aged 39) left Myanmar to Sweden in 2020.
Su relocated to Sweden to pursue a scholarship position. While her original intention was to return to Myanmar upon completing her studies, the prevailing political obligations in her home country and the responsibilities of being a mother to two children led her to carefully reconsider her plans. Ultimately, she made the decision to stay in Sweden, prioritizing the well-being of both herself and her children. However, she continues to hold the aspiration of returning to Myanmar someday, keeping the possibility open for the future.
During her interview, she declared that “as a migrant I need to be stronger than others. This is what I realized and in the morning I confess to myself”.
