Angela Isadora Duncan (b. San Francisco, USA, 1877 – d. 1927, Nice, France) was an American dancer and choreographer. She was a pioneer of modern contemporary dance and performed to great acclaim throughout Europe and the United States. Born and raised in California, she lived and danced in Western Europe, the United States, and the Soviet Union from the age of 22 until her death at age 50.
