Square named after Tilly Edinger

    Tilly Edinger (b. Frankfurt, Germany, 1897 – d. 1967, Massachusetts, USA) was a German-American paleontologist and the founder of paleoneurology. Because she was Jewish, the war made her leave Germany, first going to London to work as a translator in 1939 and then, in 1940, she moved to the United States where she started working at the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology. She published two seminal works in 1963 and 1964, and she was named president of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology.
