Gottfred Eickhoff’s bronze sculpture “Roepiger” was erected in 1940. The unnamed “beet girls” can be seen as a monument to the agricultural workers from Poland and elsewhere who worked in the beet fields in Denmark from 1892 to 1929, most of whom were women.
