Street named after Andrée de Jongh

    Andrée Eugénie Adrienne de Jongh (b. Schaerbeek, Belgium, 1916 – d. 2007, Brussels, Belgium), called Dédée and Postman, was a member of the Belgian Resistance during the Second World War. She organised and led the Comet Line (Le Réseau Comète) to assist Allied soldiers and airmen to escape from Nazi-occupied Belgium. After the war, she worked most of her life in hospitals in the Belgian Congo, Cameroon, Ethiopia, and Senegal.
