Clara Haskil (b. Bucharest, Romania, 1895 – d. 1960, Brussels, Belgium), was a pianist. She was known for her performances of Mozart. Born in Romania, she studied in Austria and France. She toured Europe, ending up in Switzerland. A friend of hers, Charlie Chaplin once said, « In my lifetime I have met three geniuses: Professor Einstein, Winston Churchill, and Clara Haskil.” She died while on tour in Belgium.
