    Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska, née Kossak (b. Kraków, Poland, 1891 – d. 1945, Manchester, England) was a prolific Polish poet known as the « Polish Sappho » and « queen of lyrical poetry » during Poland’s interwar period. She moved to Britain after her third marriage and died in Manchester. She is also known for her plays about taboo topics.
