Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska, née Kossak (b. Kraków, Poland, 1891 – d. 1945, Manchester, England) was a prolific Polish poet known as the “Polish Sappho” and “queen of lyrical poetry” during Poland’s interwar period. She moved to Britain after her third marriage and died in Manchester. She is also known for her plays about taboo topics.
