Annemarie Schwarzenbach’s Estate

Annemarie Schwarzenbach was a Swiss writer, journalist, photographer, and traveller (1908–1942). She was known for her travels, especially in the Eastern parts of the world such as Persia, Afghanistan, and India. Her estate consists primarily in Schwarzenbach’s journalistic work, the manuscripts of her novels and around 7,000 photos. The Extended Estate (E) section includes a collection of press clippings on the life and work of the author, secondary literature and copies of Schwarzenbach’s texts printed in newspapers and magazines.
