Eliza S. Dragoumis Papers

    Eliza St. Dragoumi (née Kontogiannakis) was born in Saint Petersburg in 1851. She was the daughter of influential businessman, banker, philanthropist and honorary consul general of Greece in Saint Petersburg Ioannis Kontogiannakis (1817-1888) and the Russian Natalia Kompthinsky (1827-1891). She married Greek politician Stefanos N. Dragoumis in 1872 and moved to Greece. They had eleven children, she died in Athens in 1931.The collection consists in family correspondence, personal diaries, legal documents and photographs. The list contains Eliza’s dowry and court documents concerning the customs clearance of Eliza’s personal effects when she moved from Saint Petersburg to Greece in 1873.
