This fonds contains 17 letters by Margrét Vigfúsdóttir (15 August 1864-07 December 1945) to friends and relatives in Iceland. 13 were sent to her friend Ragnhildur Einarsdóttir and Ragnhildur’s husband Páll Lýðsson, who was Margrét’s cousin. Enclosed are a newspaper clipping on the death of Margrét’s brother, Halldór Vigfússon (11 february 1866-13 March 1936), who emigrated in 1900, and a black-and-white photograph of 37 residents of Betel Old Folks Home in Winnipeg, established through community funding for the care of elderly Icelandic immigrants in Canada.
