Tomšič Vida, 1935-1994

Vida Tomšić was a prominent political activist in socialist Yugoslavia. She spent the Second World War in Italy – she was imprisonned there and also founded a partisan unit while abroad. During the socialist period she often represented Yugoslavia abroad, as a feminist activist, and also as a representative Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC), among other roles. Her personal fonds includes her correspondence for the period 1959-1965 during which time she was working for ECOSOC in New York.
