Linda (aged 59) migrated from United States to Finland in 1986
Linda relocated to Finland alongside her partner, a Finnish national. Initially, she struggled with cultural adaptation, language acquisition, and forming new friendships, as she didn’t have any acquaintances there.
During her interview, she said: « I think migration has made me who I am. Without it I wouldn’t be me. How has it changed me? How I relate to people, the way I understand others and the way I understand what’s happening in the world around me, and everything ».
