Marianna (age 46) emigrated to Latvia from Australia in 1991

Marianna was born to a family who emigrated to Australia from Latvia escaping the violence and terror of  World War II and always dreamt to come back. With the fall of the Soviet Union and the independence of Latvia in 1991 Marianna started her migration. This migration was a slow and emotional process to a place she called home he whole life.

During her interview, she said: ‘I think migration has made me who I am. Without it I wouldn’t be me. How’s it? Change me? How I relate to people, the way I understand others and the way I understand what’s happening in the world around me, and everything. »
