Birthhouse of Hana Benešová (Domaslavice, Czech Republic)

    Hana Benešová, born Anna (Hana) Vlčková (b. Domaslavice, Austria-Hungary, 1885 – d. 1974, Praha, Czechoslovakia) studied at the Sorbonne in Paris and she spent the years 1938 to 1945 in exile with her husband, Edvard Beneš, the head of the Czechoslovak exile government, in the United Kingdom and the United States of America. During WWII, she worked for the Red Cross. Every spring, she is commemorated in her native village Domaslavice in northeast Bohemia.
