Bronze memorial commemorating Queen Alexandra of Denmark (London,  UK)

Alexandra of Denmark (b. Copenhagen, Denmark -1844, d. 1925, Norfolk, UK) was a member of Denmark’s royal family, although her family was not particularly wealthy. This situation changed when her father was given the title of Prince of Denmark following a succession crisis. She married Edward II of England in 1863 and moved to the UK. When Queen Victoria died in 1901, Alexandra became queen and empress consort, and queen mother when her husband died in 1910.
