Engravement on wall about Marie Dentière (Geneva, Switzerland)

Marie Dentière (b. Tourai, Belgium, 1495 – d. 1561, Geneva, Switzerland) was a Walloon Protestant reformer and theologian who moved to Geneva. She played an active role in Genevan religion and politics and in the closure of Geneva’s convents, preaching with such reformers as John Calvin and William Farel. Her name is engraved in the stone of the Reformation Wall in Geneva with the names of three other precursors of the Reformation: Pierre Valdo, John Wyclif, and Jean Hus.
