Memorial room of Vesna Parun (Zlarin, Croatia)

    Vesna Parun (b. Zlarin,Croatia, 1922 – d. 2010, Stubičke Toplice, Croatia) was a Croatian poet and translator. Parun went to school in Split, Biograd na Moru and Šibenik. She studied romanistics at the Faculty of Humanities and Social sciences in Zagreb. From 1962 to 1967, she lived in Bulgaria, where she got married and divorced. During the Bulgarian years, she engaged in translation work and writing poetry. She wrote travelogs and made friendships with Bulgarian dissident intellectuals. After 1967 she returned to Yugoslavia.This landmark is a memorial room dedicated to Vesna Parun, situated in her home island of Zlarin.
