Museum dedicated to Karen Blixen (Rungsted Kyst, Denmark)

Karen Blixen (Karen Christentze Dinesen) (b. Rungsted Kyst, Denmark, 17 April 1885 – d. 7 September 1962, Rungsted Kyst, Denmark) was a Danish author. She moved to Kenya in 1913 with her then husband Baron Bror Blixen to start a coffee farm. In Kenya, she started writing books. Her best-known work was her second book Out of Africa, which was an account of her living in Kenya.

In addition to living in Kenya, Karen Blixen lived at the family estate Rungstedlund in Denmark. After its restoration, the property has been managed by the Rungstedlund Foundation, founded by Blixen and her siblings. It was opened to the public in 1991 as a museum.
