Nana Mouskouri Foundation (Geneve, Switzerland)

    Ioanna « Nana » Mouskouri (b. Crete, Greece, 1934) is a Greek singer. Over the span of her career, she has released over 200 albums in at least twelve languages. Mouskouri became a spokesperson for UNICEF in 1993 and was elected to the European Parliament as a Greek deputy from 1994 to 1999. After living in Athens for some years, in 1960, Mouskouri moved to Paris. In 1962, she met Quincy Jones, who persuaded her to travel to New York City to record an album of American jazz titled The Girl from Greece Sings. American singer Harry Belafonte brought Mouskouri on tour with him through 1966 in the US: Mouskouri now lives in Switzerland.
