Street named after Alice Guy (Saint-Mandé, France)

    Alice Guy (b. Saint-Mandé, France, 1907 – d. 1968, Wayne, New Jersey, US). Born to Chilean and French parents in Paris, Alice migrated to Switzerland, Chile and then back to France as a child and then to the USA when she married. Also known as Alice Guy- Blaché, from her marriage in 1907, is a director, French screenwriter and film producer, and worked both in France and in the United States. She was one of the first filmmakers to make a narrative fiction film, as well as the first woman to direct a film. From 1896 to 1906, she was probably the only female filmmaker in the world.
