Olga’s testimony translates both the difficult journey she has gone through since Russia’s attack on Ukraine and her incredible strength, resilience being a common feature of the women interviewed for the film. The objective of « In the Shadow. Women on the Move » is to show women migrants’ strengths and resilience, but also the challenges women on the move face on their way to a new life.
The film was first shown in Amiens, followed by Tbilissi, Georgia, and is planned to be screened at COST Association – European Cooperation in Science and Technology, Université de Picardie Jules Verne (Amiens), University College Dublin, Reykjavik University, Università LUMSA, and then tour Europe to raise awareness on women’s migration, challenges and opportunities.
