Square named after Helène Basch and her husband

    Hélène Basch (b. Budapest, Hungary, 1863 – d. 1944, Neyron, France) was a Hungarian who migrated to France. She was the wife of Victor Basch, founder of the French League for the Defense of Human and Citizen Rights. She was executed with her husband (whom she had not wanted to leave) by the French Militia on January 10, 1944.
