Maria Anna Angelika Kauffmann (b. Chur, Switzerland, 1741 – d. Rome, Italy, 1807) was a Swiss Neoclassical painter who had a successful career in the UK and Italy. She was a very renowned artist and one of the most important women painters of the time. She was, along with Mary Moser, one of two female painters among the founding members of the Royal Academy in London in 1768.
