Street named after Eva Kotchever

    Eva Kotchever (b. Mława, Poland, 1891 – d. 1943, Auschwitz, German-occupied Poland) was an American feminist of Polish Jewish origin. Eva Kotchever, also known as Eve Addams, is known for having run an openly lesbian establishment, Eve’s Hangout, in New York from 1925 to 1926. Her death was a result of her arrest by the Nazis for her political activities and beliefs. Eva Kotchever’s life and legacy are associated with the challenging and tumultuous events of the 20th century, particularly the impact of war and persecution on individuals, especially those who advocated for political and social causes.
