Street named after Ingegerd Olofsdotter of Sweden

    Ingegerd Olofsdotter of Sweden, also known as Irene or Anna (b. Sweden, 1001 – d. 1050), was a Swedish princess and the grand princess of Kyev from 1019 to 1050 as the wife of Yaroslav the Wise. She is venerated as a saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church. Once in Kyiv, Ingegerd had her name changed to the Greek Irene. Ingegerd died in 1050. Upon her death, Ingegerd was buried in Saint Sophia’s Cathedral in Kyiv. In 2022 a street in Kyiv was named after Ingegerd.
