Street named after Maria Rosetti

    Marie Rosetti (b. 1819, Guernsey, UK – d. 1893, Bucharest, Romania) was a journalist, philanthropist, and socialite. She moved to Bucharest following her brother’s appointment in the British consul. She became the representation of revolutionary Romania in the 1848 iconography. Marie also founded the first journal on child rearing, entitled ‘Mama si copilul’ (Mother and child).
