A collection of photographs of Refugee camp in El Shatt

The photographs document the lives of people in the camp in El Shatt, including women who were forced to leave their homes because of the war. The most significant part of the collection is made up of portraits of people in the camp, medical interventions, the work of fine artists, newspaper publishing, cultural events and the large exhibition of Yugoslav Folk Art and Crafts held in Cairo at the end of 1944. Some photos illustrate the cemetery in El Shatt and graves, and several photos document individual districts of the refugee camp.
