Assurance of Anna Maria Robert that she will never return to Russia after leaving. Jelgava, July 13, 1798

    Russian Emperor Pavel I, through manifesto no. 18559 issued on June 22, 1798, commanded the governors of Vyborg and Kurzeme to grant passports to foreigners allowing them to leave Russia. However, this permission was granted only under the condition that they pledged never to return to Russia. These conditions applied equally to both men and women.
