Bajurin Jozo and Ruža

    The fonds contains the manuscripts of emigrants Joza and Ruža Bajurin. It includes materials related to Ruža’s work at school, clippings and copies from newspapers and photographs. Ruža Bajurin, born in Zenica (BiH) in 1918, lived in Zagreb and worked as a translator in the Croatian embassy in Berlin. In 1952, she migrated to the USA, where she worked as a teacher in a private school. She was active in the emigrant community: she taught the language and worked as a permanent contributor to the Croatian Radio Program in San Francisco and the newspaper « Zajedničar ». She died in San Francisco in 1999.
