Commission on immigration, youth, women

On 18 March 2010, the French CGT Union of workers of the Renault factory decided to transfer its historical archives to the Archives Nationales du monde du Travail in Roubaix. The Trade Union archives give a unique perspective on Renault, a flagship car manufacturing company in France. The social advances won at Renault by the metalworkers have always represented a model to be extended. The collection spans the period from the Liberation to the present day, and it includes rare references to women and foreign workers. The concept of « migrant workers » includes women working in a country of which they are not nationals. The most documented cases in the collections held at the Archives Nationales du Monde du Travail feature foreigners who have worked in France.
