Correspondence of Milada Blekastad-Topičová

    Milada Blekastad was the granddaughter of prominent publisher František Topič. She travelled as a fifteen-year-old to Norway and settled there. She became an exceptional scholar, translator between Czech and Norwegian and renowned expert on Johannes Amos Comenius’ life and work. The Milada Blekastad Papers include 31 large files of two-way correspondence, 30 files of additional documents by Blekastad and others (academic studies, administrative and personal documents) and 10 files of printed articles and research. The Milada Blekastad Papers include sent and received correspondence with approximately 250 partners. Blekastad corresponded with Roman Jakobson, Dmytro Čyževskyj, Jaroslav Seifert, Julie Nováková, Vlasta Miškovská – Kozáková and many other notable figures.
