Directorate of Population and Migration, Immigration Department: management of current immigration (1926-1972)

This fonds, which comes from a department of the Population and Migration Directorate, is a ministerial payment (there are therefore many archives concerning the operation of offices which do not interest us in the context of the migration of women for work). Articles 112 to 140 concern current immigration through applications for the introduction of foreign labour by department, derogations and interventions for residence and work permits, temporary authorisations for shows, employment contracts for artists and technicians, coalmines between 1946 and 1961. Articles 123 to 130 relate more specifically to regularisations of residence permits decided by the Director of Manpower (individual applications) between 1950 and 1954. The files are not gender-disaggregated, but some concern migrant women.
