    Letter from Catherine Keane, 7 Meath Street, [Dublin], to William Gregory, Under Secretary, enquiring as to the current whereabouts of her son William Keane, who was transported to Sydney [Australia] about 8 years previously, and whom she has not heard from in 6 years or more. States she has made previous enquiries if he is still alive, but has received no answer. Also note detailing 2 convicts named William: William Gibbon or Cane from Dublin city, who was sentenced to 7 years for picking pockets, and transported aboard the ‘Chapman’, 21 February 1817; and William Kain from Roscommon, who was sentenced to 7 years for stealing pigs, and transported aboard the ‘Daphne’, 26 May 1818. 2 items; 5pp
