Kenyon Papers

    The collection contains a letter from British poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning to Miss Mary Russell Mitford dated 1847. Elizabeth Barrett Browning (EBB), born on 6 March 1806 at Coxhoe Hall, County Durham, and died on 29 June 1861 in Florence, was a British poet, essayist and pamphleteer of the Victorian era. In 1846, she escaped with her husband to Italy where she lived till the rest of her life, away from tyrannical father left in London.
