Manto Aravantinou Papers

    Manto Aravantinou, real name Vasiliki Gikopoulou (1926 – 1998), was a Greek journalist, tour guide, actor, poet, writer and screenwriter. She traveled throughout Europe as a tour guide, but starting in 1968, she lived in Paris, then moved to West Berlin with a scholarship from the Goethe Institute until July 1970. During the 1970s, she resided in Paris. The Collection contains drafts of M. Aravantinou’s poetic work, book drafts on Joyce, various articles or speeches, prose texts, and essays, along with translations, notes, and radio broadcast texts. It also includes her biographical notes, event invitations, press clippings, critiques, and references to her work or herself. Additionally, there are works of other writers like N. Kalas or D. Chatzi, press clippings she collected, and correspondence with friends and acquaintances.
