    Memorial of Harriet Powell, Roscrea, County Tipperary, to Henry William Paget, Lord Lieutenant, seeking free passage for her son, Nathaniel, to travel to New South Wales, [Australia] to join her brother, Capt Allman who is a settler there; noting that she is the widow of the late Dr Nathaniel Powell who died of fever while working as a dispensary physician during the typhus epidemic in Roscrea in 1817 and adding that he son, also a physician, died of the same disease in 1825; includes endorsement signed by eight magistrates. Also letters from Horace Twiss, Downing Street, [London], to Francis Leveson Gower, Chief Secretary, regretting that free passage can only be granted to those who have received official appointments. 3 items; 7pp
