In her private letter to her Georgian friend Nino Gurieli dated November 20, 1895, British translator and scholar Marjory Wardrop wrote: “We wish to come to that beautiful country again soon”. Born in Britain, she specialised in Georgian studies and translation, she spent time in Tbilissi and died in Bucarest, Romania.
