Oral Tradition Archive of the Occupied Territories

This collection of oral history documents contains testimonies of persons displaced due to the 1974 invasion of Cyprus. With about 7000 hours of recordings, the main body of interviews was collected between 1989 and 2004. Around half the accounts are either by displaced women or about women, though perhaps a tenth of the material relates to the experience of displacement. Fewer hours (perhaps 5% of the total) deal with women’s migration experiences (as a result of the Turkish Invasion). Researchers should be aware that the archive is not accessible remotely and materials are available in the Greek language only.
