Passport of the Polish Countess Domsky for traveling abroad from Russian Empire

    Travel passport of the Polish Countess Domsky, accompanied by two servants, Stanislav Stugalsky and Martina Saborowski, as well as the maid Angelica, indicates their journey through Riga to abroad. In order to depart the Russian Empire, foreigners and locals alike were required to obtain a foreign passport. The passport had to include the social status, name, and surname of the individuals, along with details of accompanying persons. For foreigners, it also needed to specify the place of origin or nationality. Information regarding the purpose and duration of travel was not mandatory. These requirements applied equally to both men and women.
