Petition of Mary Kilduff, of parish of Moore, County Roscommon, writing from Ballinalsoe, County Galway, to Richard Wellesley, 1st marquis Wellesley, Lord Lieutenant, Dublin Castle, requesting passage to New South Wales, Australia, to join her husband, John Kilduff, a convict transported in 1819. Refers to a letter received from her husband, stating that the governor of New South Wales has sanctioned her to proceed there free of passage, as a result of her husband’s ‘Meritorious conduct’, 23 November 1823. Petition certified by Reverend James Anderson, Church of Ireland curate of the union of Moore and Drum, 7 December 1823. Kilduff encloses a separate certificate from Walter McEvily [McEvilly], parish priest of Moore, certifying that she and John Kilduff were married in the Catholic church. 2 items; 4pp
