SLS 1859 Fieldwork in America 1971

This collection contains fieldwork materials collected in North America during a 1971 research trip. Researchers Ragna Ahlbäck, Lars Huldén, Mikael Reuter and Ann-Marie Ivars interviewed Swedish-speaking emigrants from Finland and their descendants living in Canada and the United States as part of the project. The collection has been digitised and includes photographs, audio tapes (oral histories in Swedish), emigrant lists and newspaper clippings, as well as a travel journal. Many women were interviewed about their migration experiences, and oral recordings of these interviews can be accessed online.
