Among other things, the State Security Service monitored emigrants’ activities worldwide. The archival unit stored in the CSA, entitled Code 1: Yugoslav Extreme Emigration, Yugoslav Emigration, and Workers Abroad Acting Hostilely, contains numerous documents, analyses, lists, and data on political and economic emigrants considered hostile to Yugoslavia. About 65.000 dossiers of individual emigrants are kept in a separate unit. Although the vast majority of those monitored were men, there is a number of women whose activities in migration is documented in the records.
