Venetian cadastre – Cadastral books

The books of the Venetian cadastre contain lists of family properties and estates in the territory of specific settlements in Dalmatia. It was created after the territorial changes that took place in the Turkish-Venetian wars, which were followed by the colonization of the newly arrived residents, the Morlocks. Data from cadastral books are a source to study migrations and territorial, demographic and property changes in Dalmatia in the 17th and 18th centuries. Family property concerns women as wives and daughters of property owners.
