Collection: Socijalistički savez radnog naroda Jugoslavije | Socialist Alliance of Working Peoples of Yugoslavia (Yugoslavia: 1945–1990)

Description: These boxes contain materials relating to teachers from Yugoslavia who travelled to Western Europe in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s to deliver mother-tongue education to the children of Yugoslav migrant workers. Although some teachers were men, they were predominantly women, reflecting the feminization of the profession. The materials in this collection are primarily official reports, and they can tell us about the professional lives of these women, including training, responsibilities, working conditions, and the challenges of cross-border employment.
